Abstract:

Background: A trigger finger is recognized as the most common hand tendinopathies that reduce functional ability. The present study compares the clinical outcomes of open classic release surgery with ultrasound-guided percutaneous surgery in cases of multiple finger involvement. Materials and Methods: A cohort study has been performed from March 2019 to December 2020 by participating 34 trigger finger patients with multiple involvements. These patients were treated using classical open release and ultrasound-guided percutaneous release methods and both methods were compared in patients. The pain severity and functional ability obtained from the quick disabilities of the arm, shoulder, and hand (Quick-DASH) test scores were compared. Results: The pain intensity in the classical open surgery patients was not significantly different from the ultrasound-guided group, and a one-month follow-up showed that the pain intensity in the ultrasound-guided patients was significantly less than in the other group (P = 0. 02). Besides, no significant difference was observed between the functional abilities before and after the one-month follow-up. Indeed, the two groups had the same situations. Also, the recovery time in the ultrasound-guided percutaneous release group was significantly faster than in the other group. These cases had statistical differences as P = 0. 001 and P < 0. 001, respectively. The surgical release was 100% successful in both groups. The patients' satisfaction rates in the ultrasound-guided and open classic surgery treatment methods were 94. 1 and 76. 4%, respectively. Conclusions: Classical open release and ultrasound-guided percutaneous surgery could successfully treat multiple trigger fingers. However, ultrasound-guided percutaneous surgery provided faster recovery and less pain intensity than the other method.

Abstract:

Bone and soft-tissue tuberculosis accounts for approximately 1% and 2% of total cases of tuberculosis, respectively. Tubercular involvement of metacarps and phalanges of the hand are extremely rare. In this case report a young woman was presented with finger tuberculosis without active pulmonary involvement.

Abstract:

Zincfinger CCCH (C3HZNF) genes encode proteins with three cysteines and one histidine. The proteins of this family are an important group of zinc finger transcription factors that are effective in various activities such as plant growth and response to biotic and abiotic stresses and actually They are effective in stresses tolarance. In this article, C3HZNF protein data of Arabidopsis and rice plants were used to analyze phylogenetic relationships, exon/intron structure, motifs/domains organization. These studies showed the high homology of these genes with CCCH genes in rice. Analysis of the gene structure showed that AtC3Hs have a variable number of exons, but in general, genes with 1 and 7 exons contain the largest number. study the physical and chemical properties of this family showed that AtC3H36 is the most stable protein among the members of this family, and the highest isoelectric point belongs to the AtC3H7(9.96) protein. The observations showed that the members of this gene family have 1 to 6 Znf C3H domains and a total of 17 functional domains. Phylogeny comparison between C3H proteins in rice and Arabidopsis showed that these proteins are highly conserved. In the comparative phylogenetic analysis of AtC3H and OsC3H, the orthologous genes were placed in one group. For example, OsC3H8 showed close homology to HUA1 in Arabidopsis (AtC3H37), suggesting that this gene is involved in flower development. This study provides valuable information about the important CCCH zinc finger gene family in Arabidopsis and rice. This information can be helpful in understanding how these genes work to help plant tolarance when faced with biotic and abiotic stresses.

Abstract:

Granuloma annulare (GA) is an inflammatory benign cutaneous disease of unknown etiology that may manifest different clinical features. The most common presentation or classic form of the disease is manifested as flesh colored, annular grouped papules, commonly involving the hands and feet. Various skin injuries and infections have been reported to trigger GA, including insect bites, warts, herpes zoster, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and Epstein-Barr virus infections. Several clinical manifestations have been reported for this disease such as localized, generalized, subcutaneous, linear, and perforating and patch GA, have been reported. Linear form is a rare variant of localized GA, and other skin diseases occurring in a linear configuration such as rheumatoid nodule, wart, morphea, and epidermal nevus must be differentiated from linear GA. This report describes a case of a 3 cm linear, flesh-colored, lesion with beaded border on dorsum of right index finger in a 8-year-old girl with histological findings of GA.
